Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Daniel Tataje

Originally from Peru, Dr. Daniel Tataje owns and leads Mercy Dental Group with an innovative and fresh approach to the family dental care experience. Although not currently practicing in Wisconsin, with nearly three decades in the dental field, he is a pioneering practice leader, and a proven business builder. In 2017, Dr. Tataje was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Midwest Family Broadcasting and the Latino Chamber of Commerce, and received the prestigious Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America award in 2021.

Dr. Tataje received his Doctorate in Dentistry from Garcilaso de la Vega University and has completed advanced training in prosthodontics, TMD, and Orofacial Pain through the University of Minnesota and the University of Kentucky.

With a passion for family, he loves to spend time with his loving wife, Scarlett, and their six children as they experience local and far away adventures together.

Marcie Rauls

For more than three decades, Marcie Rauls has refined her expertise in creating exceptional patient experiences. She leverages her talents through coaching and training our dental teams to consistently deliver that same exceptional experience for every patient.

Her extensive knowledge of dental procedures, insurance, billing management, dental assisting, supply ordering systems, and laboratory procedures gives her unique insight into all aspects of practice management, development, and team training. With excellent communication and relationship building skills, she is an invaluable asset to all of our practices as she helps them achieve success in the communities they serve.

Marcie loves spending time with her husband Dan and their two boys, along with friends and family. A Wisconsin girl for life, summers at the lake are especially priceless!

Director of Operations

Kristy Denk

Kristy joins us with nearly 20 years of experience in the dental industry, with the majority of her career spent in management. Her extensive background combines industry knowledge with strong leadership skills, making her a valuable asset in optimizing practice operations, enhancing patient care, and leading teams to achieve excellence.

Outside of work, Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband and son, watching all things sports, and exploring new travel destinations.

Kiara Richmond

Kiara Richmond brings a diverse background to her role as Executive Assistant at Mercy. Born in Peru and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Kiara joined our team in June 2024, bringing with her a passion for organization and a knack for problem-solving. Kiara's favorite part of the Mercy Dental Group environment is that values are not just words but lived out daily by each team member. She thrives in event management and organization and her dedication to supporting Mercy's mission through administrative excellence makes her an invaluable asset to our team.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, playing cards or board games, and unwinding with a good movie.

Senior Clinical Advisor

Dr. James Amstadt

With a dental career spanning over four decades, Dr. Amstadt began his journey as a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He grew his first dental practice to a staff that included three doctors and twenty-three team members. After selling the practice, he went on to build a highly successful implant surgery and prosthodontics center, placing over 300 implants a year.

Dr. Amstadt has completed all seven levels at the Pankey Institute and has extensive advanced training in all areas of dentistry including cosmetics, periodontal, TMJ, IV sedation, airway management, implant surgery and grafting. His passion is training dentists to incorporate complex dentistry and implant services into their practice.

Serving others is central to his life as he has filled many leadership roles in the dental world and a wide range of volunteer roles in various of non-profit organizations.

Procurement and Compliance Director

Kim Indergand

Kim has over two decades of experience in the dental field. She began her career as a dental assistant, moved into a managerial role, and now serves as the Procurement Compliance Manager. Her deep understanding of dental procedures, insurance, billing management, dental assisting, supply ordering systems, and laboratory operations gives her a comprehensive view of practice management, development, and team training.

Kim is known for her excellent communication and relationship-building skills, which help foster a positive and efficient work environment. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, as well as with family and friends. Kim loves ranger riding on summer weekends and supporting her boys in their sports activities.

Hygiene Director

Brooke Vial

Born and raised in the Madison area, Brooke has been in the dental field for nearly 15 years. She joined Mercy Dental group 3 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Dental Hygienist by trade, Brooke holds a unique role in leading our team of hygienists as our Dental Hygiene Director. She loves working side by side training, coaching and mentoring hygienists. Supporting and guiding them in using their skill sets to provide our patients with comprehensive care by thinking outside the box as clinicians is her passion.

Outside of the office, Brooke enjoys traveling, catching a badger or packer game, and spending time with her husband and 3 children.

Regional operations manager

Rajme Marcano

Rajme Marcano serves as Regional Operations Manager at Mercy Dental Group and has been a valued member of the organization for over a decade. As Mercy Dental’s first employee, she has grown alongside the company, beginning her career as a Patient Care Coordinator and advancing into regional leadership. Rajme brings extensive experience in patient care, insurance systems, and practice operations, helping ensure efficient workflows and exceptional experiences for both patients and team members. Known for her collaborative leadership and attention to detail, she is committed to supporting dental teams and advancing Mercy Dental Group’s mission of compassionate, high-quality care.

Originally from Peru, Rajme moved to the United States as a child and now enjoys baking, spending time with her husband and two children, and connecting with friends and family.

ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

KRISTINA FAHLGREN

Kristina grew up helping her parents in their Coast to Coast store, where she first learned and loved accounting. The work ethic established by her parents carried her through earning her BA degree in Accounting from UW Eau Claire, and into her work at Mercy Dental Group. With a diverse range of specialties, including payroll, financials, receivables, and payables, she credits communication skills as the key to her success. Her skills in communication and listening, learning, and adapting also contribute to a team atmosphere where every member has a place.

She calls her role at Mercy Dental Group her "forever job," but when she's not here she loves spending time with family most. She especially cherishes weekends with her grandson, which keep her young at heart, and fishing with her significant other, Dan. Though she is active and loves to challenge herself, lazy days at home with her country views are priceless, to say the least.

Insurance Manager

JOCELYN COURTNEY

Jocelyn's decades of experience in dentistry and dental insurance have made her a compassionate leader in patient care, and a perfect fit for our team at Mercy Dental Group. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, she graduated high school in 1996 and has been working in the dental field ever since. She excelled as a patient care coordinator at Middleton Family Dental before earning a promotion to Mercy Dental as the Insurance Manager.

When she's not helping patients get the most out of their dental insurance, Jocelyn loves spending time with her husband and son, seeing friends, and taking long walks with her dog, Lucy. Find her outside whenever and wherever there is warm weather – be that here in her home state or traveling elsewhere.

Billing Specialist

Stacy Zimmer

Stacy has been serving in the dental industry for 23 years. She has worn many hats throughout her career. Stacy began her professional journey as a dental assistant where she collaborated closely with patients and team members. stacy then supported the administrative tasks of the office by working at the front desk. she also has experience as a business office coordinator. stacy is excited to continue her career in dentistry by serving as a billing specialist for mercy dental group.

In her free time, Stacy enjoys reading, going for walks, and enjoying a good brunch. Her most treasured time is spent with her 2 daughters, family, and friends!

Executive Director of Mercy Dental Missions

Krysta Wetzel

Krysta is a seasoned professional with over 25 years in the dental field, spanning roles in dental labs, assisting, hygiene, business start-ups, operations, education, and non-profit work. She brings strength in client relations, problem-solving, process improvement, and business management. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Krysta is an exceptional communicator with a passion for blending business and non-profit efforts to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally. Her creativity and leadership bring vision and momentum to the Mercy Dental Missions team and to all who are served by our organization.

In her free time, Krysta enjoys family sports, running, travel, time with friends, and the outdoors.

Director of Marketing
& Business Development

Lisa Schell‍

With over 20 years of experience in marketing and business development, Lisa brings a creative spirit and a deep love for connection to her role at Mercy Dental Group. She’s worked with hundreds of brands across industries—helping businesses of all sizes tell their story, strengthen their teams, and grow with purpose.

Lisa was drawn to Mercy for its vision and culture. She’s passionate about team building, motivating people to act with intention and heart, and helping move the needle in meaningful ways. Her approach is hands-on, resilient, and focused on making a difference every day.

A Wisconsin native, Lisa is all about faith, family, and fun. She’s a former Wisconsin Badger volleyball player who helped lead her team to two Big Ten Championships and a trip to the National Championship. When she’s not coaching, playing, or watching her kids play volleyball, she enjoys walking, staying active, and raising her kids with her husband and best friend.

Marketing Coordinator

Caitlin sturm

Born and raised in the Madison area, Caitlin joined Mercy Dental Group drawn by our value-driven, compassionate culture and strong sense of care for employees. As a member of the marketing team, she enjoys combining creativity, strategy, and storytelling to help patients and team members feel seen and valued. A graduate of Winona State University with a degree in Marketing, Caitlin brings experience in digital and event marketing along with a passion for purpose-driven work and measurable results.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys staying active and being outdoors. She loves playing pickleball and volleyball, going for walks, reading, and recently completed a half marathon.

Regional Operations Manager

Mindy Gehrke

Mindy Gehrke brings eight years of experience in dentistry and a deep appreciation for people to her role as Regional Operations Manager at Mercy Dental Group. What she enjoys most about her job is the people she works with—whether it’s supporting team members across locations or helping shape positive experiences for patients.

Mindy believes Mercy Dental Group is a special place to work because the team truly treats one another like family. Her own journey with Mercy reflects that culture of support and growth: she began as a Treatment Care Coordinator and, with encouragement and mentorship, has grown into leadership. She’s grateful for the ways Mercy has helped her grow both professionally and personally.

Creating a welcoming patient experience is important to Mindy. She approaches every interaction with care and kindness, helping patients feel comfortable and at ease by treating them like family. Her favorite part of patient care is getting to know families and being a part of their journey to healthier, happier smiles.

Outside of work, Mindy recharges by spending time with friends and family and exploring the outdoors. A true mountain lover and morning person, she enjoys being outside whenever she can.
