True leadership at Mercy Dental Group is defined not only by clinical excellence, but by the way we serve each other and our communities.
As part of our ongoing blog series inspired by The Leader Humanity Needs, written by our founder and CEO, Dr. Dan Tataje, we’re proud to highlight team members who demonstrate this servant leadership in their dental clinic and their community.
This month, we recognize Rachel, whose steady compassion and servant leadership impacts our Stoughton Family Dental clinic and far beyond. In her role of dental assistant, she represents the best of what our local, family-owned dental group has to offer: understanding, kindness, and heart.
At Stoughton Family Dental, Rachel has become known as someone who lifts others through simple, consistent acts of kindness. Her leadership reflects Dr. Dan’s call to “be the light in the darkness,” and her presence makes a meaningful difference on the patients she interacts with.
“Rachel is a great example of servant leadership,” a colleague shares. “She’s always the first to figure out how to help—no matter the situation.”
Whether supporting teammates, welcoming new patients, or stepping in without being asked, Rachel leads by doing—and by caring deeply.
Outside of her role as a Dental Assistant, Rachel extends the same compassion into the community through Love First Ministries, where she supports Communications and Donation Management. She regularly gives her evenings and weekends to organizing clothing, supplies, and resources for families in need.
When donations fall short, Rachel often steps in personally to ensure families are cared for. Her manager, Mindy, shares, “Rachel gives her nights and weekends to helping others. When families are in need, she steps in. That’s just who she is.”
This commitment to service reflects the culture of Mercy Dental Group: clinical excellence matters, but character defines us.

Rachel’s example reflects the kind of culture we are intentional about building across our Madison-area dental group—one where service is valued, leadership is modeled at every level, and every team member prioritizes compassionate patient care.
For those seeking work filled with purpose, Mercy Dental Group offers a place to build a lasting dental career supported by strong work culture, clinical excellence, and leadership in action.
The leader humanity needs may begin as a hygienist, an associate, or a dental assistant.
With the right environment, mentorship, and values, that leader grows—and so does the organization around them.
